🍭 Bluesky Bot Block Backlash ⛔
Nvidia Nudges New “AGI” Narrative

Good morning. Bluesky users saw an AI bot and hit block like it was a reflex test.
Let’s dive in 👇
🍭 What’s Cookin’:
Bluesky’s AI bot gets mass-blocked
Claude starts using your computer
Nvidia CEO says “we achieved AGI”
EU hit with massive 350GB breach
Anti-AI
🐦 Bluesky Launched the Most Rejected AI Bot
The Bite:
Bluesky launched Attie, an AI-powered tool designed to help users build custom feeds using the platform's open protocol, atproto.
The idea: you describe what you want, Attie builds the feed.
It launched this week as a standalone account on Bluesky itself.
In three days, Attie accumulated 1,500 followers.
It also accumulated 125,000 blocks.
That’s more than ICE, which was previously the platform’s most-blocked account.
Attie is still live. No statement from Bluesky on the reception.
Snacks:
Attie launched as a Bluesky account operating on the atproto open social protocol.
1,500 followers vs. 125,000 blocks in under 72 hours, roughly an 83:1 block-to-follow ratio.
The ICE immigration enforcement account was previously the platform's most-blocked; Attie surpassed it.
Bluesky's core pitch to users has been algorithmic autonomy. The ability to control your own feed without platform-imposed curation
No public comment from Bluesky on the block numbers as of publication
Why it Bites:
Bluesky is the platform people fled to because they were tired of platforms doing things to their feeds without asking.
That's not a vibe. That's literally the product thesis.
Chronological timelines. User-controlled algorithms.
No surprise engagement optimization.
The whole pitch was:
We respect that you know what you want to see.
So Bluesky shipped an AI to help curate your feed.
And the users responded with 125,000 blocks.
There's a product lesson buried in here that keeps not getting learned:
AI features built for users and AI features built at users are two different things.
One is a tool sitting in a settings menu waiting to be picked up.
The other one follows you around the hallway offering to reorganize your desk.
Attie was the hallway guy.
Showing up uninvited in that community, with an AI that wants to manage their experience, isn't a feature. It's a category error dressed up as a launch.
The real tell: 1,500 people did follow Attie.
Which means the tool probably works.
The problem was the assumption that showing up was welcome.
AI teams shipping social features should print that block ratio and put it on the wall.

Protect online privacy from the very first click
Your digital footprint starts before you can even walk.
In today’s data economy, “free” inboxes from Google and Microsoft, like Gmail and Outlook, are funded by data collection. Emails can be analyzed to personalize ads, train algorithms, and build long-term behavioral profiles to sell to third-party data brokers.
From family updates, school registrations, medical reports, to financial service emails, social media accounts, job applications, a digital identity can take shape long before someone understands what privacy means.
Privacy shouldn’t begin when you’re old enough to manage your settings. It should be the default from the start.
Proton Mail takes a different approach: no ads, no tracking, no data profiling — just private communication by default. Because the next generation deserves technology that protects them, not profiles them.
